
“I think protests are great in terms of symbolism but at the end of the protest if there isn’t an objective - then what does that mean? What we have to continue to do, this year as well and moving forward is to hold the individuals that have the power to do something accountable.”
Kemba Mitchell is a proud 3rd generation African Canadian. Kemba was born in Montreal, Quebec during the month of May in 1975 to Ina Cassell (born in Montreal, Quebec) and Arthur Mitchell (born in Birmingham, Alabama). Kemba is the 2nd eldest of 5 siblings.
Kemba is a mother and a relentless activist for the empowerment and advancement of the Montreal Black Community. She is Inspired by her late mother, who was a Pan Africanist, artist and community activist.
